In addition,  write Paragraph 6: a conclusion paragraph to add to the previous five paragraphs, explaining YOUR OWN point of view on the American Dream and success. Address the following questions:

Which character do you most agree with, Henry, or Henry's father? What does it take to be successful? What does the American Dream mean to you? How has the American Dream changed? Is it still possible to achieve the American Dream? Explain how.

What does the American Dream mean? How has the meaning changed from the beginning of its use to now? What does the American dream have to do with success? How does one achieve The American Dream? Your paragraph must have in interesting opener, transition words, and must be at least 6 sentences long.

What was the Great Depression? What were the causes of the Great Depression? What happened to most Americans during the Great Depression? What did the Great Depression mean for the American Dream? Write an original paragraph that summarizes your findings about how the Great Depression is discussed in Ham on Rye. Your paragraph must have in interesting opener, transition words, and must be at least 6 sentences long. Include a phrase about how important or crucial the setting is to the story. Summarize two aspects of The Great Depression, and how characters react to the circumstances. Introduce and use two quotations from the text which prove your summaries.
